Every time I think of little boy me, seeing Crunchy and Smoothie, celebrating who I am over, while reading along with his after school snack, I  can’t quite believe that I made it here. That we made it here.  

Kraft Peanut Butter is one of the simple joys in life that we all have access to.  Regardless of what schools we went to, what neighbourhood we grew up in,  what type of cars we drive, or what our beliefs, most of us have that classic  green, or red lid somewhere in our kitchen. Even little boy me.  

AHHH WHAT DO I EVEN BUY!?!

I never thought that I would be the kind of person that writes a Holiday Gift Guide. Typically I’m the one freaking out a week before Christmas because I find gift giving harder than child birthing. And I’ve done that 4 times, a bunch of different ways, so I know. And yes, I do recognize that that makes me weird. Not the child birthing part. Lots of Transgender folks birth kids. The part where I would choose the birthing over the gift giving— that’s the weird part.

PARENTS NEED VACATIONS

This was our mantra as Katherine and I snuck away from our suburban family life for 4, childless nights in the Bahamas.

“But didn’t you just GET back from vacation?!?” I can hear you ask quizzically. 

No miggy figgys!!! No, I did not just get back from a vacation, I just got back from a trip! With my kids. Where we do all of the same crap like laundry, and cooking, and fighting over screen time, and bedtimes and all of it, but we do it in a new, more challenging place, without any of our creature comforts!  

When I was a kid I didn't know that people like me existed.

I DIDN'T KNOW THAT I WAS POSSIBLE.

AND YET.
